FLEXIBILITY & FULFILLMENT
This conversation is as much about fashion, finances, thrifting and sourcing second hand finds as it is about adjusting your life to new circumstances, creating a space that allows you to grow and use your skills and abilities. Sarah came home from her exciting, fast-paced career as a cardiac nurse and hospital supervisor due to the needs of her growing family (remember when she shared her story about God blessing her with children through adoption?). It was a big loss for Sarah.
She describes leaving nursing like “losing her left arm” and shares her struggle as she grappled to find fulfillment and purpose as a stay-at-home mom. Thrifting and a business sourcing second-hand finds was that purpose. She now uses her business as a way to connect, serve, and be a part of this larger community of women, all from her home, during naptime.
MEET SARAH
Fast fashion vs. sustainable style. Fulfillment at work vs. generating satisfaction and fulfillment at home. Sarah Parmer is the queen of thrifting sustainable second hand fashion for everyday moms like you. An RN turned stay-at-home and work-at-home mom, Sarah is a light, a joy, and a passionate momma. She’s sharing her heart for service, her humble mindset, and the gratitude she uses to get through each day.
LET’S TALK THRIFTING
Fast fashion is such a huge contributor to environmental pollution. We create 17 million tons of textile waste in one single year (circa studies in 2018). That’s 17 Million tons of clothing that end up in a landfill! That number is staggering. Truly incredible, jaw-dropping and astonishing. What can you do about this? Thrifting. Sourcing responsibility, and being aware of the waste and working conditions of the brands you support.
USE YOUR GIFTS
Sarah got into thrifting because she has an eye for style, loves to shop and enjoys outfitting other women in incredible, quality finds – she’s thrifting, searching for great brand name items at prices that are so much more manageable!
Things to consider other than the quality, the style, and the fashion of the items that you are wearing; the ethical nature of the way that clothing was made and the sustainability of shopping second hand vs. brand new.
A REMINDER
You are the queen of your own life, the writer of your own story and you have as much ability to change the course of your life, your wardrobe, your carbon footprint and to support sustainable companies. Here’s the reminder that the decisions that you make matter, momma!
